Initial Application Review
Every candidate completes a detailed application covering employment history, certifications, experience with different age groups, household environments, and professional references. Applications are reviewed by our placement team before any candidate moves forward.
National Criminal Background Check
We run comprehensive national criminal background checks — not just county-level searches — on every candidate. This includes sex offender registry checks, federal court records, and multi-state criminal database searches.
Direct Reference Verification
Every reference is contacted directly by phone — not just emailed a digital form. We speak with previous employers to verify dates of employment, job responsibilities, reliability, and character. References that cannot be directly verified disqualify a candidate.
Credential & Certification Verification
CPR and First Aid certifications are verified directly with issuing bodies. NCS credentials, early childhood education degrees, and other professional certifications are verified before a candidate is introduced to any family.
DMV Driving Record Review
For positions requiring transportation of children, we review motor vehicle records for all candidates. Clean driving history is a non-negotiable requirement for driving nanny positions.
In-Person or Video Interview
Our placement team personally interviews every candidate before adding them to our active network. We assess communication skills, professionalism, reliability, personality fit, and childcare philosophy.
Social Media & Online Presence Review
We conduct professional social media screening to assess candidates' online presence and ensure it aligns with the standards our families expect.
Ongoing Monitoring & Support
After placement, Signature Nannies maintains contact with both the family and the nanny. We monitor placement success and address any issues promptly, including our replacement guarantee when needed.
